After completing a Bachelor's degree, the next step for many graduates is a Master's study programme. If you obtained your first academic degree at HTW Berlin or are currently in your final study semester and have already registered to write your final thesis, you can apply now for a Master's study place in winter semester 2017/18. More information

Do you want to change your Bachelor's study programme within HTW Berlin? If so, you can apply online from 15 May 2017 to 15 July 2017. More information
 
 
 

 

 

Registered in Berlin yet?

If you have moved to Berlin to study, you need to register your new place of residence with the local registration office (Bürgeramt). Pursuant to Section 17 of the Federal Registration Act, this must be done within two weeks of your moving date.

Your vote counts! Committee elections on 20 June

As a student you can play an active role in the decisions that are made at HTW Berlin! Students have permanent positions on all important committees, e.g. the faculty committees, University Council and Board of Trustees. The next Committee elections (in German) [PDF] will be held on 20 June 2017. Election nominations (in German) [PDF] can be submitted to the office of the Central Election Board until 22 May. If you are unable to vote in person on 20 June, you can apply to your AStA committee representative for a postal vote.

Additional offers for studying refugees

Refugees who are enrolled on a study programme at HTW Berlin can now sign up for a newsletter with information about courses such as empowerment, time- and self-management, presentation training and teamwork skills. To subscribe to the newsletter, send an email to Maria.Anne.Schmidt@HTW-Berlin.de with the following information: study programme, semester and your country of origin. This information will be treated confidentially.
 
 
 

 

 

"Who am I?" - Integra students request your help

For the last three semesters, HTW Berlin has been helping refugees to prepare for studying in Germany via the HTW Integra project. A group of Integra participants have now set up their own project. They want to promote intercultural dialogue and exchange at HTW Berlin through a series of events. To help them to plan their concept and events, they are asking students to fill out a short questionnaire by 9 May.

"Office 365 ProPlus" and "Windows 10 Education"

For just € 4.99 per year, HTW Berlin students can get the "Office 365 ProPlus" software package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. The package comes with a Windows 10 Education license,which is also available without paying the annual fee of € 4.99. More information (in German)

 
 
 

 

 

Wiki for teaching and research launched

The team at the Information Technology Centre has started a new Wiki for teaching and research (in German). Students can use it for jointly creating texts, organising and documenting processes and presenting content.

The Apple on Campus programme at HTW Berlin will end on 16 May 2017. However, the special higher education prices for students will be continued.

"Excursion on Friday" to ALBA and JustWatch

The semester has only just started and the Career Service is already sending you out into the working world!Would you like to take a look behind the scenes at different companies in Berlin, check out the start-up scene or get to know a well-known industrial company? Or perhaps you'd like to discover innovative business models and products or find out about career opportunities by talking directly with HR managers? The "Excursion on Friday" organised by the Career Service makes this all possible! On 19 May you can choose between visiting the logistics centre of the ALBA Group (in German) or the film marketing start-up JustWatch (in German).

How can I use Facebook for customer acquisition and how can I make sure that I can pay all of the bills over the next weeks and months? Questions like these will be answered at the events organised by the Start up-Competence Centre in May 2017 (in German).

Places still available for university sport Extras!

The university sport “Extras!” are offered in addition to the regular HTW Berlin sports programme. Places are still available for the workshops "Entspannt aktiv sein" (Active but relaxed), "Relax & Calming for Examination", "Selbstverteidigung für Frauen" (Self-defence for women) and "Von der Körperarbeit zum Tanz" (From body to dance).

Beach volleyball university championships: register now!

On 24 June students and employees from Berlin and other federal states can take part in the HTW Berlin "BHM open" in the categories "Men", "Women" and "Mixed". Register now!
 
 
 

 

 

HTW Golf Masters

HTW Berlin is launching its own university golf tournament; the HU, TU and FU already have one. The event will take place on the premises of the Berliner Golf & Country Club Motzener See e.V. It is open to students, employees and alumni and it is part of the Europe-wide university golf tour. Membership of a golf club is required. More information (in German)

German Computer Game Award

HTW Berlin received no less than two awards in Germany's leading computer games competition. First prize in the category "Best young developer concept" was presented to DYO. The game designers impressed the jury with "refreshingly designed challenges in a two-dimensional labyrinth with an unusual setting that requires players to constantly think outside of the box". Congratulations also go to ViSP, likewise from the game design hub of HTW Berlin, who came third place in the same category. More about the two teams on Tumblr (in German)

 
 
 

 

 

Eyes & Ears New Talents

Four Game Design students created Ernas Unheil (Erna's disaster), a combined book and augmented reality app for children from the age of 10. Talea Sieckmann, Lisa Forsch, Jessica Bodamer and Olga Trinova were now honored as "Eyes & Ears New Talents 2017".
