The Computing Learning Centre of HTW Berlin can help you prepare for your maths exams. Help is available in the form of tutorials (in German) and crash courses (in German), e.g. "Working with the functions of two variables" is being offered at the Treskowallee Campus on 17 June.

Apply now for a German scholarship!

The Deutschlandstipendium (German scholarship) rewards students for their academic achievements and hard work. The next round of applications will take place from 15 June to 15 July 2017. You can apply for the first selection round via the LSF. If you're starting your Master's study programme this autumn, please use the application form (in German) on the web page.

 
 
  30 clicks for your studies  

Module evaluation in summer semester 2017

Are you a student on a study programme operated by Faculty 3 - HTW Berlin Business School or the BIfAW Master's study programmes "Business Administration and Engineering" or "Project Management and Data Science"? If so, you have the chance to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the modules you have taken between 26 June and 9 July. The evaluation will be conducted online. You will receive an invitation to participate in the survey by email. For questions please contact Luisa Berger in the Quality Management and University Development Office.

 
 
 

 

 

Second conference for student research

The Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is organising the Conference for Student Research for the second time. Interesting papers on research projects or degree theses can be submitted until 23 June. The conference will take place on 21 and 22 September.

 
 
 

 

 

Digital Transformation and Corporate Entrepreneurship - degree thesis opportunities

Julian Kawohl, Professor of Strategic Management in Faculty 3, is looking for students interested in writing their degree thesis in the subject area of "Digital Transformation" or "Corporate Entrepreneurship and Innovation". Opportunities exist for publishing the results of the degree thesis in the form of a study and in journals or leading media. Watch over the shoulders of start-up team sofatutor as they create a learning video for their online learning platform. Or take a tour of the production rooms at Jonas & Redmann GmbH where special machines are produced for the industrial manufacturing of highly sensitive products such as solar cells. EXIST start-up grant, crowdfunding and speed-matching

For anyone interested in starting their own business, the Start-up Competence Centre is once again offering lots of events (in German) in June. The programme includes important information about the EXIST grant programme for start-ups, crowdfunding and financing with investors and banks. On 27 June 2017, company founders from HTW Berlin can participate in an interdisciplinary speed matching networking event.

GOing International - perfectly organised internships abroad!

The "GOing International" event (in German) event on 15 June will tell you everything you need to know about how to find the perfect internship abroad and how to organise and finance it. Your questions will be answered by the Career Service team and the International Office of HTW Berlin, the student initiatives AIESEC & IAESTE, the EduSeasons organisation and the German-French student body. Students that have completed internships in Chile, Great Britain and Australia will also be there to share their experiences. Register by 9 June by e-mail to careerservice@htw-berlin.de.
 
 
 

 

 

Fulbright Scholarship to study in the USA

For the academic year 2018/19, the Fulbright Commission is again offering scholarships to finance a period of study at a graduate school in the USA (in German). The scholarships are intended for advanced academic studies in the form of four to nine months of full-time study at an accredited university in the USA. Please submit your application by 20 June 2017 to Kornelia Röhr at the International Office of HTW Berlin.
 
 
 

 

 

DAAD funding to enable international students to complete their studies

International students who are writing their degree thesis in the coming winter semester can apply for the DAAD "Studienabschlusstipendium" programme until 31 July. Funding of around 400 euros per month is available for students while writing their thesis.

Apolda European Design Award for fashion design student

The fashion design student Dana Renée Harel has received the special "Experimental Design" award endowed with 7,500 euros for her collection "Salt & Paper" at the Apolda European Design Award 2017. The award was presented for the ninth time in May 2017. 32 collections from students at 16 European universities were nominated for the award. The budding young fashion designer from HTW Berlin succeeded in growing salt crystals on the surface of textiles for her collection.

 
 
 

 

 

Call for applications for the Young Researcher Award of the Economy Feminism and Science (efas) network

Outstanding academic theses (Diplom degree theses, Bachelor's and
Master's theses or dissertations) can be submitted until 31 July for the efas Young Research Award 2017. The award is presented for theses focussing on women’s studies and gender research in the economic sciences and is endowed with prizes worth 500 euros and 750s euros.

"Home sweet Home" - accommodation exchange for HTW students

Finding an apartment in Berlin is becoming increasingly difficult. The new HTW Berlin accommodation exchange "Home sweet Home" has been introduced to help students to find somewhere to live. The International Office developed the platform in cooperation with AStA and the Moodle support team at HTW Berlin. Anyone with a Moodle account can search for accommodation and post listings for available apartments.

Fascinating research: Long Night of the Sciences on 24 June

Would you like to see behind the scenes of HTW Berlin or introduce your friends and family to the university and the unique flair of the Wilhelminenhof campus? The Long Night of the Sciences (in German) on 24 June (5 pm-12 midnight) is an ideal occasion. Hundreds of participants will be illustrating the relevance of research for everyday life in over 50 exciting projects. For members of HTW, tickets are available at a special price (7 euros for an individual ticket, 18 euros for a family ticket) from the Service Pool on the Treskowallee campus and the information point on the Wilhelminenhof campus.
